Celebrities influence the world we live in more than we probably think about it. You will hear many people say, oh so what? They are just celebrities, they just act in movies, or sing songs or do modelling and so on. But it's not just up to that. For millions of people a single celebrity can be their most favorite person, that they would follow whatever he or she does in any field. This post I am writing is mainly focused on the western countries because they actually have entire cultures built out of entertainment. I watched a video some days ago on Supreme and I got to know that Supreme wasn't really doing well until a celebrity starts wearing their clothes and got photographed wearing it and suddenly the company starts blowing up, their products start selling. 

Like Kanye West wore a supreme shoe and as the photos surfaced on the internet and other medias, the shoes price increased up to a number of times and the company started getting recognized. This is an example. Everyone wears clothes of course and buy different types of items. Celebrities really influence the fashion industry.

 If multiple famous people starts wearing the same brand of clothes in public and gets photographed, the value of the brand can really go high as people start to get curious about what they are wearing and what it is. If it is made in limited quantities it can really increase in value, the Hypebeast culture is valid here when people start reselling items which are made in limited amounts but are highly collectible usually influenced by some celebrity or that the brand is highly valued. That's why luxury companies focus on making products in limited quantities so that the supply is way less than the demand and people will go crazy to own it, paying unbelievable prices.

 But fashion brands don't just go high in value by its own, models and celebrities pay a very important role here. Brands like Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Supreme, Nike, Adidas, Apple etc. are so highly valued because famous people use it or wear it and because of the help of media ordinary people like us see it. Paparazzi are very often hated because they interfere in everything just to take photographs and shoot videos but even those celebrities deep inside know, and the famous companies that because of them they are highly valued. It's a business. Everything is so crazily connected to each other. Celebrities create trends, and they create it very often that we people follow all over the world. Do you ever think of things like this?

 Kanye West can drop an overpriced yeezy shoe and it will sell out in a few minutes and sometimes less than a minute. I'm not saying yeezy is bad lol I love Kanye West more than any other celebrity, okay add Travis there too I am loving him a lot lately. Just look at this collab of him with McDonald's. It's crazy, McD is getting more recognition now than they used to and Travis is getting the same benefit with a lot of money and fame. These all are amazing marketing strategies. It's the power a very famous person has. 

Be it very good or very hated and often a very hated one will get viral more easily. Why? Controversy sells. Donald Trump, take him. He is one of the most famous person in the ENTIRE world. He can drop t shirts tomorrow and it will sell like crazy and then people will resell it at incredibly high prices and people will buy it. Even if he is so so so hated. Media knows how to make bag (money) out of these people and also make them richer and famous. We people? All we do is drop hate in comments and arguing with a stranger for an hour lol then getting angry over it ruining your day. No offense to anyone but it is the truth. Ever thought of this?

 Personally I think Kanye West has influenced the music and fashion industry more than any other celebrity. And he is expanding into more fields now. Hate him or love him, that's another truth here. He is one of those people that likes to do what he wants but I don't wanna love shower him here. I have researched on famous luxury brands and Kanye has played a huge role there, that guy owns YEEZY after all and his YEEZY clothing line which many other fashion brands have been copying, let's not say copying but rather getting inspired by.

 Louis Vuitton everyone knows, Kanye has role there too and Balenciaga and Supreme, Adidas, Nike and so on. Celebrities can wear something in a stupid way and create a trend out of it. Crocs, those ugly shoes were so hated and still are and at one point was getting bankrupted. But celebs wore it, did collaboration and now it is over a billion dollar empire. People think of them as collectibles now like sneakers. I think the product that has been influenced most to the entire world by help of celebrities to some extent is Apple's iPhone, Mac, Airpods etc. They are so overpriced with less features and specs but still is at the top. Brand value. Celebrities really influence a lot. 

 

As Kanye said, no one man should have all that power.
