Shameless (US) Season 2 - Episode 10, 11 & 12 Review and Recap

Shameless (US) Season 2 - Episode 10, 11 & 12 Review and Recap. In this review of Shameless US TV series, I cover Episode 10, Episode 11 and Episode 12 and also give recap on what happened in these episodes. I give my personal opinion and experience I had watching them. I have finished watching Season 2 of Shameless now. This has the ending, Episode 12 as well.

EPISODE 10: A GREAT CAUSE

Episode 10 was great but sad, actually it was emotional to some levels. I'm getting closer to the end of this season. It started with Monica waking up the kids at 1:am late night starting with Carl, then Ian and and then Debbie while Fiona and Ian was asleep. Frank joined and said it is gonna be a movie night. The kids had school later in the morning but they don't care. At first I thought it's cool enjoying like this, Monica is doing good but I get wrong later. They watched some scary movies and had fun staying up night. Then at morning Fiona was like why all the kids are so sleepy, but Monica said it's fine and she already made the breakfast and did stuff. Fiona felt like it's good Monica is being a good mom now, started to trust her.

 Later in another scene, Ian was trying to call Mandy over and over again but she was not answering his calls. It's over Mandy getting pregnant and her dad thinking Ian is the daddy but he is actually gay and did nothing. When Ian reached the store, he saw that it was all broken and the store basically destroyed inside with everything messed up. Obviously done by Mandy's dad. He was shocked. Then Veronica and Kevin was trying to have a kid and did their best with testing kits and stuff. Kevin thought he has problems in his balls but it wasn't like that. Fiona was attending GED classes now and before she went to the night club to get a new job, but she was late for employment. 

She thought she could now do all these things because Monica is being a good mother now. Monica was going to make some food and was checking kitchen shelf then found the hidden squirrel money fund that the family was collecting for emergency uses and for Liam's education later. She found the money and thought she hit the jackpot, she literally stole the money and told Frank about it saying we can do amazing things now. So Frank and Monica went out with the money and spent it all on buying a new car, drugs and other stuff. Liam was with them too, later Frank and Monica had fight in the car so Monica left without Frank and went to pick Debbie. There she said Debbie let's go shopping and bought her dozen of dolls spending money like crazy. No one knows right now how she got the money to do this.

 At this point I am like Monica is worse than Frank. She spent more money on buying appliances, food and what not. Kevin and Veronica had a fight over having a kid when Veronica said she most likely can't have a kid and don't want it in the first place, Kevin said she lied about it and stuff. In Steve's apartment with Lip, they got a new mission to import Estefania's boyfriend through a ship container but it was getting messed up because they were having a hard time locating the container and the guy inside was having a hard time. 

Monica also took Carl with him and said let's go driving where she let Carl drive and they had an accident. Police caught them and Monica was jailed. Carl got hurt in the head a little, just bleeding. Before this Ian and Lip broke into Mandy's house to put a gun inside it and get Mandy's dad messed up for gun possession but he already had dozens inside. Then Mandy's dad caught both and Ian was stuck inside with Mandy's dad pointing gun at Ian but at the same situation Mandy came and asked her dad to stop, and said that the kid is his own dad's and not Ian's. Lip was there too and was confused until he realized that Mandy's dad slept with her own daughter and she got pregnant. 

Mandy explained later that it sometimes happens when her dad gets drunk and confuses her as her mom. This was really messed up and I really felt bad for her, but Ian said he will raise money for abortion and help her. Steve said as soon as Estefania's boyfriend is found, he will get back to Fiona . He told this to her twice by coming in this episode but Steve was having a really bad time getting death threatens by Estefania and her boyfriend as well who was stuck in an unknown place. Later the police told Lip in the way that her mom is in the jail and had an accident with Carl. Lip reached there and was asked to bail her so she releases, he went straight to home looking for the hidden money squirrel fund and found that it is all gone. Extremely shocking moment for him, he asked Frank about it but he didn't know anything about squirrel fund. It was true, he didn't know how Monica got it. 

Fiona had got a new management job in the club and also decided to apply for college after finishing GED. She was really happy until she reached home. Lip said where the hell she has been and explained about Monica and her stealing Squirrel fund. She was crying and said she thought that Monica became a better now. Lip was really angry about it and said she should have hidden the money in a better place, the entire house was messed with sofa in the kitchen, clothes all over, utensils all messed and so much trash. Painful moment for Fiona. I felt really bad for her man, she can't even enjoy a single moment of her life or do something more than just managing her house and family. She can't rely on others. She can't even rely on her parents.

 When it was happening, her crying I wished I could do something for her. Yes it is just a show but it was emotional. She was hitting her washing machine, cried a little more than just started placing things and cleaning stuff. She can't give up. She had to go on because she is literally the only person who knows about things and is mature. I love this show. I didn't talk about one part and it was of Sheila and Jody (the guy Karen had married to). In last episode Jody and Sheila slept together lol so he kinda became attracted to her. Sheila knew she did wrong but she is stupid anyways, there was a new sick guy in their house the priest had sent. They were doing stupid but hilarious things with him. I don't wanna go in detail but it was just really funny. Now Jody thinks Sheila is the one and not Karen haha. This is it about Episode 10.  

EPISODE 11: JUST LIKE THE PILGRIMS INTENDED  

Loved Episode 11. This entire episode is kind of based on the Thanksgiving day and things happened around it, some really memorable things for the Gallagher family. It starts with Carl and Little Hank and Hank hunting down ducks through his rifle his father gave him at Gallagher's backyard where the poor is. He didn't let Carl use the rifle or get duck so Carl was pissed about it. Then we see Monica being super depressed about what she did in the last episode, like she was really sad and not faking. She stayed in her room for days, disappointed by her disappointment. Debbie went there with the breakfast she made, she didn't respond. Then Ian went and she didn't respond to him nicely either. 

The kids were being so nice but she just stays there being sad. Thanksgiving is gonna be next day. Fiona was selling all the things Grammy and Monica had bought to get money for survival as all the money was spent by Monica. Carl was sad because his Xbox was gonna get sold too and Debbie's laptop. Carl also asked Fiona for a gun or rifle because Little Hank has one lol. Later Frank comes home and goes to Monica's room and forces her out of bed, bath her, and took care of her so nicely. He said we are gonna get to his brother Clayton and get the money her grandmother had sent to his brothers. It was kinda nice seeing them both, but Monica was acting like unconscious with no energy at all and super depressed. She said she don't want to do anything. 

They went to Clayton's house and the plan was to lure Clayton into getting money back. Clayton was not happy to see them and surprised, Frank asked for money but he refused. So Frank said he is going to the toilet and waved Monica to do her job. Physically manipulating Clayton but Clayton was not ready to do anything. Seeing Clayton just not doing anything even with physical contact made Monica even more sad. Then Frank came and said he will deal with Clayton later and takes Monica back. In other scene Lip was at Mandy's house recording tapes for his upcoming child, that is what he thought that Karen's child will be his. So he was basically making tapes for the child, you know that kind of stuff. Then Mandy's brothers came into the room and asks to go for a beer run, Lip agreed. They went to the store to find out they were actually robbing the store. Lip didn't know this so he escaped from the car, disappointing Mandy and her brothers. 

Before this we see Lip and Steve going to the port to pick Estefania's boyfriend, Estefania was with them too. So he finally meets Estefania and they were making love hard in the car. Other scene was at Sheila's home where Karen and Sheila have discussion about a topic and Sheila said she might have done something wrong and Karen directly says that yes I know you slept with Jody. Karen calls Jody and asks Sheila to do whatever you want with him, Lip was there too and he got to know about this awesome thing too. Ian went to some hotel for I don't know what purpose, I didn't get but he slept with a real estate rich person in a luxurious hotel and stayed over night till next day which was thanks giving. Karen would have a baby anytime soon as well. 

Back in Steve and Estefania's apartment, Estef boyfriend was making love with her when Lip comes there and was surprised with how they were. Then he goes to the room and finishes his tape for his child, hears noises outside the room and it was Estefania's boyfriend about to kill Steve but he saves himself by giving him his ID and other stuff. Tells him he can have his identity so he can live in the States and be married to Estefania without having any trouble. Now Steve was free of Estefania so now he can get back to Fiona. He goes to Fiona's house and says he is free now, they kiss for some moment and then Fiona thanks him, says he can stay over night for Thanksgiving and Fiona agrees. . While Frank and Monica were sleeping below the stairs, with Monica being super sad but Frank was there to support her and loving her. It was such a sweet scene, and Monica had bipolar disorder. 

Now it was the Thanksgiving day. Carl had found a gun thanks to a cop chase scene where the criminal throws his gun and Carl gets it. He shoots an eagle and brings it inside house for Thanksgiving. Everyone starts preparing for food and stuff. Ian comes back to home after spending the night at the hotel. Lip does not come back. Steve buys more food for home. Other scene, Karen pissed herself and says the baby is coming. In this particular scene, just a moment before Frank breaks in house but gets caught so he says he actually comes to wish Happy Thanksgiving. As everyone prepares for the upcoming baby after Karen pissing herself. Frank steals the entire medicine drugs and takes them to his home. Karen, Sheila and Jody goes to the hospital for delivery. Frank gives the meds to Monica. Gallagher family enjoys Thanksgiving day and Monica and Frank joins too. It was a happy moment. 

Everyone enjoying and celebrating while Lip joins the hospital for Karen, he was so excited to see his baby for at least some minutes before giving it away. Yes if you remember they were gonna give it to adopt to other family. Now two major events go on at the same time, first is Karen in the delivery room with Sheila, Jody and Lip and doctors for the baby and other is Monica saying she needs to go to the kitchen, while everyone enjoys at the Thanksgiving table. She gets to the kitchen and slit her hands bleeding, everyone hears and go there. Everyone gets speechless, and then Steve rushes to stop the flowing of blood from Monica's hand and toweling it up. Kevin helps too. That scene was super depressing.

 Kinda reminded me of 13 Reasons Why scene of Hannah. It was shocking, as Fiona calls the emergency and was asked if she used any pills, she asks Frank about it and he doesn't say anything because he was the one who gave her pills. They rush to the hospital. After some time doctor says that Monica is stable but they will take her time till it gets fine and she doesn't self harm again. Then the Gallagher's get informed that upstairs Karen is having a baby so they rush upstairs to the delivery room. 

Now it was Karen having a baby. Everyone is there for the baby to pop out, it was such an awesome scene. The baby pops out after lots of pain taken by Karen, she was basically cussing and saying she wants drugs. But.. the baby wasn't what everyone supposed to be should be. He had down syndrome according to Fiona and looked Asian or Chinese. Later Karen says that it was of some other guy, I forgot name. Karen said that she slept with him as much as she slept with Lip. Lip was heavily disappointed and got teary eyes shouting at Karen but she said that she never said that it is gonna be his baby. I felt so bad for Lip because he was just too excited to see his baby and damn it, it's super sad. 

He leaves the room and tells the family who was gonna adopt about it, they leave. Lip leaves and crushes his tape throwing it in the bin outside. Painful moment. Frank was also shown outside getting drunk and sleeping on the streets, he was so sad about Monica. I feel that Frank is going to change and be a better person later. I just get this feeling. During the end, Sheila steals the baby from the room in hospital where the newborn babies are kept. I don't know if she steals Karen's baby or a random but she escapes with Jody on his bike. 

This was the ending of this episode. This was an episode with a lot of happening and major events. Monica self harming, Lip getting excited about his baby and making tapes to finding out it wasn't his baby and Karen giving birth. Also Steve getting free from Estefania and back to Fiona. Great episode. Lip knew he couldn't be a dad and be with his own baby and then getting disappointed so badly is just another level of pain. Monica won't die as she survives, will it change her? Will Frank change? Next episode is the last episode of this season so something big will happen. Excited.  

EPISODE 12: FIONA INTERRUPTED  

Here's episode 12, which is the last episode of season 2 and brings a pretty nice ending. This ending episode gave me less questions than the ending of season 1 did or maybe not lol. It starts with Frank reaching the hospital Monica was admitted to at late night, calling her name and that he will never leave her until a guard comes and says get off and come during open hours.  

Frank leaves in sadness, then comes the scene of Sheila and Jody with the baby they stole in last episode. I wasn't sure if it was Karen's baby or some random but it was confirmed now that Sheila stole Karen's baby. Both Jody and Sheila was looking at it loving and playing. They were planning to hide it somewhere before the cops come because it's a crime Sheila committed. Next scene, the Gallagher family comes back from the hospital to home all very sad, especially Fiona. She goes to the kitchen and sees all the blood and just stuff and towels that were used to stop the bleeding from Monica. Steve was there too. Veronica and Kevin just leaves as Steve and Fiona starts cleaning.

 As they were cleaning Fiona started crying badly and Steve supported her with kisses and hugs. The thing they witnessed was so painful. They go upstairs to pleasure each other but in the moment Debbie, Ian and Carl comes hugging Fiona, crying and hugging. Then they sleep. Lip visited Karen at the hospital and stayed there over night with Karen. When she wakes up next morning she clearly says that the baby was stolen by Sheila and he is with them, and that she don't want the baby near her at all or wants to keep the baby. Lip wanted her to keep but he didn't say directly. Fiona and all the kids wake up, with Steve and they talk about things. Fiona asks Steve about his parents and that she wants to meet them, at first Steve said they aren't good enough to meet and she will be disappointed but then says okay she can meet. 

Fiona also says that now he will call him Jimmy because that is his real name and he explains Carl, Ian and Debbie that he used Steve as name for stealing cars and not get into trouble deeply. Frank visits Monica at the hospital at morning, they meet and share love with hugs and kisses. Frank says he wants her to come back home but Monica says she won't come back and signed for 60 more days. She leaves and Frank gets disappointed. Monica says she isn't well at all and needs to stay away from her children until she gets well which is a great reason. Frank comes back to home and tells everyone he is taking Monica back to home, Fiona says she is better there. But Frank goes to Debbie and tells her they will take her mom back. 

Next scene was Karen and Lip coming to Sheila's home asking about baby and Sheila says that she wants the baby to stay, but Karen highly disagrees and says she don't even want to see or touch the baby. Karen said if she doesn't take the baby away she will call the cops and she does. Tony and his friend comes for it but eventually it was decided that if her mom wants to keep the baby, it is fine. Karen says she will leave the house if the baby doesn't go away. Sheila later chooses the baby and Karen leaves the house seeing Lip for the last time in this season.

 Other scene was Fiona visiting Mandy's house and asks about Lip to get back to home and that she passed the GED test. She said Lip can do school now as she won the deal, but Lip disagree and Fiona goes back to home. Still later Lip goes back to school after Mandy says he needs to go back to home, Lip takes the AP physics exam and gets passed with great marks. The most stupidest part personally for me in this episode was Frank secrely getting in the hospital with Debbie and a help to take Monica back. He eventually finds Monica getting eaten out by some other girl who was there. Monica says she doesn't want to go and they are better off her but Frank wasn't ready to accept the fact.

 They escape but Monica and her friend leave without taking Debbie and Frank. Monica just leaves saying I love you Debbie. Why I find this so stupid? Because of Frank. Like I literally hate him so much in this episode, he is so immature. When Monica is not stable why he is so interfering here? If he really loves her so much then leaving Monica there would be the best choice but no. This was a huge disappointment, and now Monica is gone without him. He got nothing but failure. He even took Debbie into this.

 Whatever, Fiona, Carl, Ian do meet Steve and his family as he promised at an expensive restaurant. Steve's brother is a total trash as it was shown hating on him and trying to create a bad impression of him in front of Fiona. His sister was cute and quiet. His mom was fine. Later his dad comes and I was like this face is so familiar, he said he was late because of some stage four patient at his work. Then I remembered Steve's dad was the person Ian slept with in the last episode lol. The rich man who took Ian to an expensive hotel and let him stay overnight. When Ian sees him, he instantly remembers him then says he is going to the bathroom and then Steve's dad says he is going to wash his hands. They both meet and Ian says do his family know he is gay and he just says some stuff in response.

 I got the impression that Steve's dad was attracted to Ian and then I also remember in last episode, he said he worked in real estate but Steve's family know him as a doctor or surgeon working in the medical field if I am not wrong. Don't know the truth here yet. Well, then when Fiona, Carl, Ian, and Steve come back to home after the meet, Steve says Fiona he loves her and she asks if he will leave her. He says never and they make love. As they were going upstairs to the room, someone starts banging the doors and here comes Estefania physically harmed by her boyfriend Marco. She hugs Steve in front of Fiona and asks him to help her as he is her husband. She was crying. Fiona didn't feel bad I guess because well she knows Steve is married to Estefania. 

Next morning, Frank comes out of nowhere looking for hidden money in the kitchen and Fiona says there is nothing. Until he takes something from the fridge and Ian says he can't take it, Frank just straight away hits his son Ian and everyone tries to stop him. Estefania hit Frank on the head from behind with a frying pan. Beautiful moment. Loved it. Frank deserves it lol. He gets unconscious and the family drags Frank away to the yard. Nobody cares about Frank. 

After some time Lip finally comes back to home and everyone hugs Lip. It was good to see him getting back to his family after spending weeks out. Then comes an awesome scene I knew would happen, it was the very end. As Lip was going upstairs, Estefania says she is feeling cold and wants warmness of Lip. They sleep together on the couch. I loved it haha. It snowed outside over night and after credits we see Frank waking up from the snow he was covered on and just go away.  

The episode ends and so does SEASON 2 OF SHAMELESS US. How was Season 2 you say? It was too great. At first I wasn't feeling it but it got more and more good as it progressed and now I finally finished it. That's it. I'll do a single review of the entire season 2 maybe giving all my thoughts on it.  

I still have plenty of questions on this season that are yet to be answered and I didn't mention one thing. Steve's dad was messaging Ian quite a lot after the meet for another round, you get it. He is really attached to Ian and even after knowing that Ian's sister Fiona is dating his son, he still won't stop being like this. Ian tried to tell this to Fiona multiple times but something interrupted in between like Steve coming in scene or Frank coming back to home. Season 3 is next, baby.
