Shameless (US) Season 2 Complete Review

Shameless (US) Season 2 Complete Review. This is my review of this crazy amazing show Shameless and the second season of it, I go with what happened throughout every episode. I hope you enjoy, it was very fun watching and writing about this season.

MAJOR SPOILERS ALERT - A LOT OF SPOILERS IN FACT

Watching and finishing Season 2 of Shameless 2 was a great experience. It was beyond my expectations I had developed when I had started it. You know during the first three episodes I was not feeling this season much, I was kind of disappointed and it felt boring and empty. I was like damn Season 1 had a much better starting but still I expected it to get better because it was just started. 

The beginning of season 2 introduced a new starting and it was now summer. Not so cold and snowy, and dark like the first one. This was much brighter and you could feel the environment. The starting was developing the base for further episodes and maybe I wasn't feeling it much. Seeing Sheila getting out of the house making 10 then 100 then 200 steps and reaching the store for the first time and so on. She wasn't afraid to go outside anymore. Frank was still the same, alcoholic and awesome, with a huge pile of stupid on it. Fiona living a new life with new people dating, much richer and she working in the night clubs with Veronica. Kevin became much nicer throughout the episode than he was in the starting of season 1. 

Debbie and Carl grew up more and you could see that, Ian had a changed look and Lip was kinda same. During the starting I missed the presence of Steve and the chemistry between him and Fiona. Sometimes I felt he won't come back and Fiona will get someone new much better. He wasn't Adam or Richard or other guys, they were rich. But then in an episode she called Steve and said hi, and she was sad and was missing him and later thinking and crying about him. Then he came back and she felt so good and so did I, until Fiona realized he is married now with Estefania, a Portuguese girl and daughter of a drug lord. Estefania is such a cutie though and I love her accent. When Steve came back, it was sure he would win Fiona back and he did but a lot happened till the time. It was so great, and then Karen getting close with Lip and then far, Karen got married with Jody and then started hating Jody, Jody falling for Sheila. It was crazy and this is what I love about this show. The humor was out of the world and dark humor jokes, I am fine with it. 

In last season when Steve went to Brazil and Tony thought he has a chance with Fiona now, I thought she would date Tony for real now but in this season he was just a cop sometimes providing help in certain situations. When you think of something that may happen according to you in a movie or show, and it doesn't happen but something different happens which is even more awesome. It feels great. This is what I'll say about this season, so many things I predicted never happened. The things that happened was even more amazing. Frank made a lot of stupid and even worse mistakes this season to be frank. Hell in the end of this season I hated Frank, a lot. Karen was a person I had different feelings and opinions about at different time. Sometimes I felt so bad for her, sometimes I felt she is wrong and sometimes I hated her so much. The character change throughout both the seasons was pretty impressive. Jody, the person she first dated and then married only to kick him out after. 

Jody's impression was different too throughout the episodes. At first I thought he must be some tough guy with a tougher attitude. Then later he seemed nice, okay-ish. He became much nicer and when he was kicked out, and still lived in tent for weeks just to wait for Karen to calm down. I respected him and soon I found out he has a genuine heart and is probably the closest to niceness with Sheila. He understood things and helped, and as I said closest to Sheila. He got closest to Sheila, it was like they both are perfect to each other in terms of character similarity. He fell for Sheila lol and it was hilarious and slept too, later becoming her boyfriend. Great progress here. 

Frank lived a lot with Sheila, but that faded too over time in this season. To living at her house to getting back to his home, and living outside in the streets. Monica coming back changed a lot of things, it changed him and his love came back. It was so cute seeing them loving each other but that turned into hate for me personally later, especially after Monica self harming and him doing that stupid rescue mission only to let Monica leave without him. When Monica came back it felt like a trap to me, but she really loved her kids and also she was mentally not well. That made it go wrong. She was really trying to change and do good, but failed.

 Ethel and her son, living with Kevin and Veronica was sweet too. It was nice till she lasted and escaped with Malik which was pretty sad. I wish she didn't leave them but instead changed herself to become better. Maybe she will come back in later seasons, don't know yet. I am pretty sure Kevin and Veronica will have their own kids and Veronica will do get pregnant which she has a huge doubt on. It will be very nice to see how they manage the new life they will be having after having a newborn baby.

 Mickey and Ian's love story was disappointing, because I expected to see more of them together and a much better character development for Mickey. Maybe they are saving him for later episodes which is great. But Mickey is trash and I mean dirty, he is someone that won't change so easily with his environment. It's good though he is not a bully anymore, because he got out of jail and then got into jail again thanks for trying to be badass again just because Frank found about his homosexuality. I felt good when he was jailed again, he belongs there until he decides to change for the good. Lip had a pretty tough time in this season mainly because of his attitude but it is not much of his fault. He isn't that mature or maybe he thinks he is too much. Lol wait I am ranting haha, whatever just giving my views. 

Lip is a great character of this show, he is so bright and smart but I wish he used that in education much earlier. He did get back tho to school during the end but he could do anything with his intellectual capabilities. He just doesn't realize it yet. His relationship with Karen was a mess, he loves her so much but Karen is worse. He is just isn't right for her and I hope he finds someone much better and deserving. I felt bad a lot for him. Him living at Steve's apartment and Estefania was cool though and Estefania kind of likes him which was proved during the ending of season 2 when they slept together on the cough. Estefania was at starting felt like she won't play much role but she is kind of getting more and more into the main plot and now lives at the Gallagher's. Well it was just for a day during ending but next season will reveal more. I am sure she can afford a much better place because her father is a drug lord and her boyfriend will pay for the abuse he did to her, that's what I think.

 Fiona and Steve get back together for real at the end which was very beautiful and sweet even though Steve is still legally married to Estefania. I am sure there will be a way for this and I low-key have a crush on Estefania, she is an angel. Grandma Gallagher getting back to home after jail, making a huge mess and then asked Sheila to end her life was something I totally didn't expect. I thought she will play a role like some gangster lol. She was really mean and annoying though but I felt bad for her too during her last moment and Frank was broken when she died. I loved Carl more and more throughout the season, he is a little badass and I just love his character so much. One of my most favourite in this show. 

Debbie got better as well through character development, from hating Steve after finding out about his real identity of Jimmy to not hating him. Personally I found Debbie irritating at a lot of parts through both seasons but she got better. She is sweet. There were more sad moments in this season than the first one, even though this season is summer themed and season one was dark and cold. You get what I am saying. Or maybe I am feeling it right now but I'm sure season one had more hilarious moments and less pain ones.

Stan, dad of Kevin was weird. All I want to say about him is he is weird but also funny, and also very old. Liam was little and cute and was little and cute through both seasons. Perfect for him but the little one got into trouble when he was taken by those black guy gang when Frank had made that 10,000 dollars bet. But they took great care of Liam like their own kid. Debbie got a crush on Little Hank, friend of Carl. I wanna see more about them later and see if they get more closer. Little Hank is cool. I feel Ian and Lip spent less time together in this season not to forget that fight that had happened and them not talking each other for days. Ian was more focused on his own and Lip on his own, Lip got more screen time I am pretty sure. In this season I found that Frank cares about money more than anything else, he played Dottie the woman who had cancer and let her die to living with Sheila for months just to get the insurance money of Eddie.

 I actually hate Frank as a character much more now, I loved him in the first season and starting of season 2. Yes he is perfect as he is, but sometimes you hate. I don't know, maybe my opinion will change more and more in later seasons. Still he is super funny and awesome. He is just.. Frank.  Jasmine who was a supporting character mainly to Fiona had things from hanging out with wealthy people and cheating on her husband to getting caught and kicked out, and even her rich boyfriends left her. Fiona always felt like she was irritated with Jasmine's presence because of Jasmine's close intimacy towards her. Mainly. Maybe she will come back.

 Jasmine could have been better for herself though, her fault. So many other things happened I probably missed here, but Season 2 was damn amazing with very impressive changes throughout each episode. I felt like watching more and more and I was hooked on it pretty badly. Watching as much as 5 episodes in a day. This show is something where I see a lot of things happening and a lot of things to think about if I compare it to other I have watched, so many details to observe. Maybe I have a different perspective now but I can write so much now with so many different thoughts. In this season I did a recap plus review of every episode and probably wrote more than 12,000-15,000 words of the episodes. It's crazy, as crazy as this show is and amazing. 

Fiona, I didn't talk much about her but she was the nicest in the starting managing her family and still is to the end. In this season she tried to find more time away and live a different life than she usually does which was very very great to see, from working in clubs to going on crazy dates and rides. She even walked miles and miles in the morning and passed at a GED test. She even thought to apply for college education later. She was stuck in the loophole of managing her family before but as the kids are growing, they are getting more responsible towards themselves and not so dependent on Fiona. Still Fiona worked so hard for her family.

 Debbie did day care job on her own for weeks. I can only see it getting much better in later seasons, well honestly I read many reviews and people said this series is a 10/10 till season 5 And then it starts to fall. I have completed only two now, three more to go for the 10/10 experience as the people say. I'm so glad I found this show like for real, it is a part of my life for some time. It's not even a week yet since I started it though. I am a person who doesn't really care much about other people's opinions as many times I have loved something other people didn't like and hated something most appreciated. So who knows I watch this series till season 10. About Season 2... I think this is it. I loved it so much. It was worth spending the time on it and experiencing it all. I am for real gonna miss enjoying this show for the first time in future. I bet.
