Tinnitus - Living With it for Over 1 year - My Life Experience
23 February 2019 7:02PM: Tinnitus is basically a term for the ringing sound or noise you get in your ear. I actually slept for a couple of hours at day and woke up a while ago. I was looking for a topic to write about and tinnitus came into my mind so here I am writing this.
As far as I remember, I got tinnitus back in 2017's December. At first I thought it's just temporary which in most cases is, then it went for a week. People usually get tinnitus when they are around at something producing loud noises or sounds like in a concert or band, or say from an airplane nearby. You get it right. I also had eardirt or whatever it's called in my ears so I thought it is the reason behind it. I searched up online and found that there is a term for it, tinnitus. It kind of worried me after reading some people's experience and for some people it lasted as long as 10 years. I knew that I had a lot of ear dirt in my ears and I gotta get rid of it. I was so distracted by it that most of the time while doing things I used to think about this noise I get in my ears. It was really really distracting. Even while sleeping I used to think about it and that gave me sleep disorders and anxiety.
There was one more problem I got alongside tinnitus and it was that i could hear my heartbeats whenever I laid down from the side of head, i mean hear my heart pumping out and in. I could count it and that made me feel more sad. Now I was sure that I gotta get an appointment for ENT. Speed up to February and I did get an appointment for ENT. He said it's absolutely curable and happened because of all the mess I got in my ears. He said that he is gonna clean off my ears by injecting it with some fluid, get off the ear wax. He did it and it was quite painful, a lot of ear wax came out of my ears. Oh and I forgot to mention that my tinnitus was from right side of ear only and not on left side. So after he cleaned off both years and me dealing with pain. Everything felt so weird and I felt like I got super human level of hearing. Everything felt really really really loud. It was a really weird experience for me. The tinnitus was gone for now. I was happy. I mean I could really hear things so nicely now, I wish I could describe the feelings I had that time in words here truly haha. I went home and it was alright, but then I suddenly noticed that the tinnitus actually didn't go back, it came back and to my left ear now. I could hear those ringing noises again but from mainly left ear and a little bit from right ear. It made me felt really upset as I thought if the ENT damaged my ear. The tinnitus I used to get wasn't very loud but I could hear it in an empty closed room with no source of sound. It wasn't distracting in normal environment like in my room while TV is playing or A/C is running.
Fast forward to 2019 February, present time. I still have tinnitus and mainly in left ear. I didn't went to ENT again. I live with tinnitus now, It's no more a problem for me. You know tinnitus will mess up with your mind only if you think about it that it will, I have learned to live my life with it. It's a part of me now, I can sleep with noise coming from my ear but I don't even think about it and sleep very nicely. You get used to things right. This is my little story or experience of the tinnitus I have. It felt good sharing!
