Shameless (US) Season 1 - My Personal Experience & Review
Shameless (US) Season 1 - My Personal Experience & Review
CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS
I have made these notes while watching the Season 1 of US Shameless TV show. At first half I am basically relating things with my life and tell the things I learned, then I move on talking about what I experienced in the shows and my thinking on it. It's still Global Pandemic, Coronavirus is still going fire and now I am finally watching shows again. Let's go.
The way the life is showed in the beginning of the show, damn I'm not used to even 10% of that life it felt Life in India vs Life in USA as a family can have a huge difference. Especially when it is a huge family and your dad is alcoholic, so the oldest daughter has to take care People get to used to things, things can change and life can change.
It's USA, I mean as in the show everyone is open to vodka beer cigarettes etc. Partying is must, it seems so fun. I hardly get to experience these things on regular basis Every member has a different story going on You don't need to be a millionaire to have a happening life, you can be lower middle class and still be happy at times and have a lot of moments It's okay to meet people and get heart broken, the thing is that people come and go. One day you may meet someone that feels like the love of your life, going to change your life Be crazy, live life to the fullest.
Have a lot of physical pleasure or s*x. In the show, the main family has some crazy neighbors to adding the fun, black people are so amazing When you got a rich partner, it becomes a lot easy to date and take to expensive places. There is always a unique talent in your family members they excel at, be it in studies, or beating the crap out of your school mates.
Your mother loves you a lot. Your true friends will always help you in one or other way and support you. Being drunk all the time is really bad, for you and your loved ones. There is always a solution to any kind of life problem, be it faking your own death with the help of family and friends to get rid of debt. The life of a women is not as easy as it may seem to other people, they aren't weak but very strong. Especially when there are responsibilities. Being alcoholic can really break you.
I'm close to finishing season 1 now, just watched ep11 which is second last of this season. Honestly now it's safe to say this is like the craziest show I have seen, the things are like wtf but so amazing.its so hilarious. till now I have been talking about the show without much spoiling the plot but I will be taking a different approach now. I will talk about what I have watched, I will give my points on that, my opinions and my experience So in episode 11 I've seen Karen taking revenge from her father after he called her W word (Prostitute) in a room full of other people and kids. That incident really broke her and the way she had reacted in the episode before this, crying and breaking things. Girls and in fact boys too, can be really sensitive when they are shown they are loved, but the outcome comes different. It was also the time when Karen's mother Sheila kicked her husband out, she stepped out of the house for the first time. But after that incident, Karen changed. She changed how she looks, and adapted to punk lifestyle. And started making video diaries on the Internet, you get it and then she did it with Frank at the end lol. That was so crazy seriously. Frank had hurt himself with his work (he got a new job) so he couldn't do anything and was drunk and did drugs. Besides that, another awesome moment was when Tony finally caught what Steve does for a living. He caught him stealing car, beat him badly and told if you wanna save yourself, get out of here. And then Ian and Lip got arrested, thanks to Tony confusing the stolen Porsche with that Steve stole it again. This episode had a lot of crazy moments, Debbie before these incidents told Steve to tell Fiona the truth but it's late now. Let's see what happens in the last episode of Season 1.
After finishing the last episode #12 of season 1, now I know if I should continue this show further or not. In this last episode, there were some things concluded. First of all, Ian and Lip got bailed by Tony who was the reason why they were arrested. But before the bail, Steve had come to the station and found that they weren't bailed, so he thought both brothers are still in custody. Later Steve met Tony in the middle and told Tony to get him bailed, he will be gone forever and also give Tony the house he bought for Fiona. But poor Steve didn't know Tony already got the brothers bailed, it's a win win situation for Tony here. Next thing was Karen's father and Lip finding about Frank and Karen's scene of Daddygirlz diary. That happened in her father's office, and his colleagues saw it too. He got too angry at Frank trying to find and end him, and Lip beat him so much. Later it was shown Karen's father ending his life because of the shame and that the video had went viral. Debbie didn't tell Fiona the real identity of Steve, Steve had secretly come to Fiona and asked her to leave everything and come with him to Costa Rica. Lip and other members said she should go, but she didn't. Steve left without her. Lip and Karen got back together. Frank really felt sorry to his son Lip but he peed on him lol. Too many crazy moments.
Now my opinions on this show and season 1. As I said, this is already one of the best shows I have watched and definitely the craziest with the things shown and talked about. Like I could never imagine something like this happening in a movie or show, or there are a very few. The story was amazing, acting, the environment, feelings, everything was so good. Karen, I felt really bad for her but she is just so young and she doesn't know much, she needed proper guidance and love which her father never gave properly, but the things she did was really bad too. Steve, and his real identity being Jimmy... I hope I get to see more about it later. Or if he comes back in next seasons. This season and series showed me and told me a lot about a living culture and Life that I am sure is similar to a lot of places in the west, a life so hard but you get used to it. In India everything is just so boring. The best character of the show was obviously Frank, the way they portrayed him and things he says while being drunk or high is some crazy experience. I found that being drunk and high is so cool, but being addicted to it makes it the opposite.
Fiona was great, like really a wife type. She was into Steve because she loved him and not because of his wealth or the things he did. It was cute, from the starting. The gay relationship between Ian and Mickey kinda reminded me of the characters from Sex Education. That was a great show too. You know in this season there were a lot of things I wished didn't happen, but I learned that if there is a show, or movie or a book and it goes exactly as you want it to be. Then it is not that greatly appreciated or powerful. If you get disappointed at the end, then it makes it better because you want to know what happened next and this is why, I will be continuing this and start Season 2 as well. Carl, that little kid was so amazing too. Personally I didn't like Debbie much later because she was interfering too much but Damn I loved the acting of these kids and their character and not to forget Veronica and Kevin. Black girls are so amazing and at first I didn't like Kevin but he is like the best character. He is just so amazing. So if I sum this up, this show is another masterpiece. I have really watched a lot of masterpieces and there comes another. God, how come this show isn't that talked about? I mean my friend had suggested it else I'd never know about its existence. I'm in love bro. Rating it 10/10. So yeah, this is it. Starting Season 2 of Shameless (US) next.
