Human Desires, do they ever fulfill?
23 February 2019 1:18PM: My mind goes through a lot of thoughts and honestly it's been quite fun writing up these blog posts. Today I am gonna write up on the Human Desires. In short if I sum it up, desires can never be completely fulfilled.
Life is depended on three basic things and that is food, shelter and clothing. Human requires these 3 basic things to survive (not adding oxygen to survive and other stuff because that's more into science stuff). These are the necessities but after these things, comes the luxuries or desires. The desire to have more.
I remember like 12 years ago from now, when I was probably around 7 years old, my desires were very little if I compare to my present time desires. I used to get happy by having the most basic things and thought its more than a lot. Like buying Rs. 5 beyblade made me very happy. I remember breaking my "gullak" its where you put coins and money. I had Rs. 20 inside and I break it to buy Rs. 20 beyblade, I bought one but my mother came to know about it and i was punished badly. A Rs. 5 munch chocolate made me happy too or even Rs. 1 toffee. That time things were different, my father's income wasn't high to afford the things we can as of right now. My desires weren't much and I still used to get satisfied. I couldn't even imagine having the things I have as of right now at that time. Skip to some years ahead, let's take another example. I remember when iPhone 5S was launched and I came to know about Apple products and their exclusivity and how they are a status symbol. Hearing about it by my friends, it became my desire to own an Apple product one day. I remember seeing an Iphone 5S out in the market when one person was using it, I was blown to see that, on how amazing and premium it looks. It was my desire to have it, see you desire to have one thing and you get it, then you want to have more and more... and more. Your desires never end, as time passes and new things comes you want to have that too. You can never be completely satisfied with one thing because new things are coming on regular basis. I own an iPhone 7 right now and it was my desire to have one years ago, now I want to own an iPhone XS. I can give a lot of examples based on my life.
All these similar things probably happened with you too. Even the richest persons are never completely satisfied I think. I am not on their level as of yet but I think they have desires too which changes over time. Businessmen who run the top companies have the desires to take their company to the next level. I think, you can never have too much because there's way too much already out there. This kind of blows my mind as I am writing this. I wonder how things will be like for me after 10 years from now or say in 2030. What will be my desires like in 2030?
