What Happens During The Amity University Noida's Selection Process? - Complete Personal Interview & Test Guide of Amity University
7 May 2019 5:24PM: What Happens During The Amity University Noida's Selection Process? - Personal Interview & Test Guide
Hey guys! I hope you are doing great!
I am Arpit Chaudhary (An Amitian) and I just decided to write up a post on what happens when you apply for Amity University and get to be a part of the selection process. I will try to put as much information as I can. I have given interview and test at Amity University, Noida three times (for different courses) and it's been great all the time. I will tell you what usually happens and what you should be doing, trust me, cracking the test and interview at Amity is easy pie!
There's something I would like to mention first, I have given three tests/interviews at Amity and the test were of English language. Amity also takes specific test for students applying for engineering, law, master courses etc. and I don't now much about them, the only thing I know is that they are easy if you have basic knowledge about the subjects. Sure, the English language test is the easiest and most basic out of all.
I will be doing the process in points because it's easy to get and read. But Yeah, IN-DEPTH information so you don't have any questions.
1. The first thing obviously is that you apply for a course or multiple courses through the online admission system at Amity University's official website. You have to put basic information about your family, where you live, Aadhar card number, marks you got in 10th standard and 12th standard (not 12th if you gave the exam the present year and results are yet to be announced). After filling up the info you have to pay Rs. 1100 (it was that at my time) for the form. You can select for 2 courses in 1 form. You get a form number and a password for it.
2. Once you are done with filling up forms and paying for it, you gotta go to admission microsite of Amity and log in with the Form number and password you got. Once you are done, you have to wait around 2-3 days. Your form is sent to the Amity admission office and is analyzed. It generally takes 2-3 days but sometimes may take longer, once they have received and analyzed the form and everything is okay... they proceed to the next step...
3. You get a message on your phone and on email saying to select date for the selection process. You have to log in to admission microsite with your form no and password and select a date. Once you have selected a date, you are done. Now you know when you will have to come at Amity and appear for the selection process. An admit card is generated for you on the site and you have to take a print out of it. Remember that it is very important to carry your selection process Admit card to appear for the interview and test.
4. So now you have the admit card and the date on which you will have to appear for the selection process. The only thing you need to carry during the day of your selection process is your Admit Card and a Pen or Pencil (for giving the test). You can carry your bag with a water bottle or lunch if you want but lunch and water both are provided at the selection day. I will get to that soon.
5. The place where you generally have to appear for the selection process (At Amity Noida) is Admission Office at Gate Number 3 of Amity University Noida. Reporting time is usually 9:00AM and students start going inside to give the test and interview, but it takes time.
6. It's the day of your selection process, you get to the admission office through gate number 3 of Amity. You will see a lot of students applying too and there will be a huge crowd. Parents are also there. Parents need their own card if they want to come and have a tour of Amity (You get that too from your Admission Microsite). All the required information is written in your admit card. Admission Office is built besides the Central Library of Amity Noida (J Block).
7. Once you have entered the admission office during your selection day with other students, it will be quite a feel. Make sure you are carrying your Admit Card and a Pen (or Pencil). You move in and then the faculty there registers you with a barcode reader. You are allowed to go in the basement and then to the place where all the students are made to sit. It's the place where you give your test. It's a large hall with sitting arrangements of hundreds of students.
8. You have to find a place to sit, you may be quite nervous lol. I was during my first time. You are welcomed to Amity by a short video giving you and all the other students quick tour of the college. You basically get to explore the campus of Amity through a video clip. It may be the first time you get to experience the college. I will recommend you to find a company as soon as possible, start talking to students around you and get to know each other!
9. Let's get into the test now. The English test process and other tests starts sharp at 10:00AM (morning). Before that you may have a Biometric reading session of your thumb or maybe later. Depends on their mood but you will have to give it, don't worry its normal and very easy. You are given OMR Sheets and now your Pen will come to use. You will have to fill basic information such as your name, your father's name and your home address, the campus you are in and the course you have applied for along with your signature and the date. Oh and also the admit card number! All the necessary information is already written on your admit card. Carefully fill up the OMR sheet along with other required details,
10. You are soon enough given the test paper once you are done up filling basic information. The first thing that will come to your mind seeing the English test paper is "LOL THIS IS SO EASY". I am not really sure if other tests are that easy too but all I know is that they are of mainly basic concepts. Keep it like that. So here we go, the test begins and it's for about half an hour. Remember, it's HALF AN HOUR FOR ENGLISH TEST. Other tests take up more time and you will be notified.
11. Talking about the English test, it has approximately 60 Questions. Takes less than half an hour to finish. Once the test is completed. You are proceeded to submit the question paper and the OMR sheet to the assigned faculty.
12. Next process is when your interview session starts. It is done in a very systematic manner. Your name will be called along with the course you have opted for, you go to the faculty present there and they assign you a number. Then you move out of the hall and proceed to the room number given to you. That room is where the personal interview process will be done.
13. Ah but before that let me tell you that the entire process lasts as long as 4:00PM - 5:00PM evening. Yes due to such a large number of students it can get as long as that. You never know if your name will be called after 30 minutes or after 3 hours. You just need to wait for your name to be called.
14. If it's past 1:00PM afternoon and your name isn't called up. You will need to wait. 1:00PM to 2:00PM is lunch time. It's break time. You are made to have lunch provided by Amity. Food I ate was quite tasty. Okay let me tell, the food I get to eat during my day was Rajma Chawal with Suji Halwa and Water. The lunch brake ends after 2:00PM and then again the waiting session starts for interview.
15. Once your name is called up, you need to move for the interview process. There are other students waiting to give the interview as well.
16. Now many students get nervous at this stage, they think what is gonna happen during the interview process and what type of questions will be asked. Good news is that, don't worry much. It's mostly easy as what I have experienced and heard from other students. You just need to be calm and confident. I'll tell you guys what type of question is usually asked and what you should be doing!
Once your turn comes for the interview round, open the door and get into the room. There are mostly two faculty present inside, wish them by saying Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening as per the time. Sit and be relaxed, they will check your admit card.
You will be asked to introduce yourself, I recommend you to speak in English if you can because it gives the best impression obviously or if you aren't comfortable in speaking in English then give introduction in English and continue the rest of the process in Hindi (or perhaps mixed).
What you should be saying in introduction is basically your name, where you are from, your school, your father's and mother's occupation. That's enough. They will start asking you basic questions first like Why did you want to join Amity? Why did you choose this specific course? Be calm and give the answer. I will recommend if you be prepared with it.
They might ask about the stream you had in 12th and ask questions from it, obviously of basic concepts. If you know the answer, do and if not just simply say I do not know the answer of this question. They may ask about the course related questions, like if you opted for BBA then why do you want to go in business line? What are your future plans? They may ask about your board percentage in 12th.
See, the questions asked is just to test your confidence level and basic knowledge. I think you should be knowing answer to these questions. There is 90% of the chance that even if you get failed to answer 50% of the questions you are selected anyways.
It's true that Amity selects almost everyone, you will hear many people saying that Amity interviews and tests are just for name's sake. I wouldn't agree to that completely, see if you act pure dumb in front of those faculties and have extremely poor communication skills you may get rejected. People do get rejected.
All I want you guys to be is confident in front of them, answer nicely and if you don't know simply say I do not know. Interviews generally lasts for 5 minutes and in very hard cases more than that.
All they want to test is your basic knowledge and communication skills.
You are selected already :)
I hope you guys enjoyed reading this, everything I have written is from my perspective (3 times actually). I enjoyed writing this and hopefully this will be helpful to you people.
